my name is valerie, and i am a nail polish addict

how many is too many? is there an answer to this, i dont know where my obsession with nail polish came from, but it has escalated in the last couple months, i have one other box the same size as this one filled with my random polishes, and then two other boxes filled with tools such as my nail art pens, dotting tools, cuticle stuff,files and nail cutters. Im going to take a break, no more nail stuff for a while....

I used cotton candy in my last F.O.T.D and got many compliments on how good it looked, the product is very pigmented considering it isn't a lipstick but a cream, I was thinking they would be similar to the sleek pout pots which only give a wash of colour, but was pleasantly surprised to discover differently.
This product comes in a range of 4 colours, 2 nude brown shades( I don't own them yet), and the 2 I own are fairy cake and cotton candy, they have a slight vanilla scent, and apply quite smoothly quite wet at first before drying completely matt.I do highly recommend priming your lips with carmex/vaseline/whichever lip primer you use as it is a matt product and therefore will make it very visible if your lips are dry and chapped. I also would recommend using a lipliner (I use l.a colours in pinky for both) to lengthen the longevity of the cremes, though having said that they even fade nicely, adding a wash of colour on the lips, similar to a lip stain, but all in all I love them and would rate them 4/5 only because I would like to see more colours, like maybe a pale lilac, and a bright red would be a nice addition to the range. I will be going back for the nude colours next week, plus at the moment superdrug has an offer for 2 for £4.99 which is an added bonus and if you fill out the survey beforehand you get an extra 25% off, (minimum spend is £10 tho)

bad girl, bad girl,whatcha gonna do?whatcha gonna do, when they come for you?

so originally i was going to add a video on here, set everything up camera and all, finished my look and guess what,the bloody thing didnt record >.< aaaarrrrggghh
anyway this is a look i did using the sleek bad girl palette, i think its now being released as a permanent palette, as when it was originally released it was limited edition.

i used INNOCENCE as my lid colour, OBNOXIOUS on the outer lid, rebel on the crease with TWILIGHT to blend it out and then GUILLIBLE as my highlight.

about as neutral as i get

i honestly dont do neutral looks unless im going to work, im more into the brighter smokey eye looks, but it was easy to do,i just used the Fashion fair quad i got from House of fraser (well i think i got it from there)some eyeliner (elf cream liner,im trying to use it up) blush (mac gingerly) macara (maybelline)and Calvin Klein lipgloss in Parfait.

the last pic eyes is a little blurry,but it was the only proper close up i had,so soz in advance, we finally have a little bit of sun over here in london, Hip Hip HOORAY!!!
I have a confession to make, its not easy, and im not proud of myself, but here goes............................
My name is valerie, and im a nail polish whore..^.^
Thats right, i said it.........i think i need deliverance or something cos im out of control!
I realised this when i went to my faithful nail shop, bought more polishes(will do a post later) only to come home and realise that i have no where to store them, my plastic storage box is full >.<, so now im in need of a new place to put them as many of them fall out of the box and fly to some random place under my bed. Technically its not my fault, my nail place does such a good deal, its hard to resist and after all that tooth trauma i deserved a treat DAMMIT! But after coming home and putting them all on my bed, it was clear i have a problem,  ive bought over 70 in the last 6months >_< eeeeekkkkkkk ^_^ , so im officially on a ban, no more for a long time.......
The main reason for this is my faithful nail shop that stocks china glaze, i friggin in love and obsessed with them, and for the price i get them for (buy 5 get 2 free for £12.50) its too tempting :), the quality of them varies with the different formulas creme, jelly,glitter etc but to me they definitely up to standard especially the cream formulas (ive had them on for as long as two weeks, and im the sort of person that changes polish at the first sight of any chipping) they come in a huge range of colours, though the glitter ones are the only ones that bug me as they chip quite fast and chip in massive chunks gggggrrrrrrrr

I love the colour, but the formula isn't my favorite, its quite sheer this was about four coats, and runny, and took ages to dry, the last pic you can kind of see the blue/purple flecks that is in the polish, but it isnt that noticeable, i had this one my hands for about 6days before i changed it, but i already cant wait to use it again, as its really flattering on my skin tone (even tho i have old lady hands, cos of all the chores i do,meh)

Toothache sucks, and im back :)

Its been a hot minute, but im glad to be back on my blog/diary, ive learnt a valid lesson, Not taking proper care of myself will lead to consequences, its not totally my fault tho, my previous dentist was a complete fraud and dipshit, i had been going to him my whole life, and ive never had an x-ray, or anything other than a clean, my last visit with him was when he randomly decided i needed fillings (which by the way i didnt get x-rayed for and i wasn't given any injections when i had all FOUR put in the same day, ive now been told that he gave me too many in one go and i should have had a separate appointment) i suffered with sensitive teeth for soo long after that visit it put me off completely going back or going to any other dentist,i hate medical places anyway with the smells and the scraping blergh, just all of it. Long story short, i now have a hole my my mouth :(, the tooth in front of my wisdom tooth had a massive infection, plus abscess, plus it was cracked, plus when the filling was put into it by my old dipshit of a dentist didnt clean it throughly so decay was left in there,so the tooth was rotting on the inside, so yeah, it wasnt fun, i have never cried sooo much in my life, my tongue and face swell up,i had to remove my tongue bar as it was soo fat, my jaw started to lock so i couldn't open it properly, ive lost intense weight, and yeah it wasnt fun >_<
Im better now, had the tooth removed, and found a new dentist who i can work with but thats probably because he reminds me a lot of one of my uncles....


Anyway im just putting a note up here that im back, up and running woop woop!

P.S if anyone is going though any teeth+gum related trama i recommend Corsodyl mint mouthwash (the original tastes like liquorice and i HATE liquorice) and sensodyne rapid relief, and of course to see your dentist asap.

I watched a tuturial yesturday by MissChievous (Julia) from youtube(if you hav'nt already check her out,shes amazeballs), loved it soo much i tried to replicate, obviously mine doesnt look nearly as good, and i messed up the crease at the last stage ggrrrrr :|, but i still like it,and got compliments when i went out :), so it cant be that bad, anyway on to the pics...

This is all gossmakeupartist's fault, he did a review on this line, and i came across it in the Superdrug in Marble Arch (not all Superdrug's hold this line), im in love with these, i use Tahiti almost everyday as a light highlighter, and Hawaii on nights out, they are very pigmented, easily blendable and soft, and did i mention i  love them? :)

ELF(eyeslipsface) had a 24hr promo last week, so i took advantage of it, 

 the contouring blush and bronzing palette

The promo was 20% off their studio line so i picked these up along with the daily brush cleanser and makeup mist and set, soo far i'm loving the pink passion blush, at first i was a little leery, as it a bit chalky but blended with my 187 brush its ok, gives me that fresh cheek look, berry merry is nice too but i ordered this by mistake i was actually after blushing rose, clicked this one by mistake, its very shimmery so i'd only use this on days 

where my face is quite neutral.

 I already previously owned the honey do lip gloss and needed a back up, i love the super glossy lip shines, they are just thick enough, and glossy, my only problem with it is the packaging, when they are warm the plastic feels like it could pop, i would have preferred it if this formula was avalible in the same packaging as the hypershine ones, but nevertheless i still love them.

 I was hoping the stipple brush would have been smaller as my intention was to use it to apply highlight but its still fine. The cream liner, intense black comes with a little applicator, lasted all day which is a plus, but ive noticed it feels a little bit greasy when i apply it (am i the only one???

Ive used the contouring palette once, kinda feel a bit meh (sound i make when im neither impressed nor unimpressed, jst meh) about it, its cute and all, pigmented, but its not a favorite or anything.
